Muhammad Umair founded Dot Sms in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir in 2021 to build one system for the whole restaurant — the counter, the kitchen, the stock, the purchases, the payroll, the bank and the books — instead of a POS with an export and an accounting package that never agrees with it.
He leads the design and engineering of Business One and works directly with the restaurants that run on it.
What “Dot Sms” stands for
Dot Sms is short for Dot Software Management System — a software development company whose product is Dot Sms Business One, the ERP built for fast-food and restaurant businesses. It is sold as a service: one platform, many businesses, each at its own address on dotsms.net.
Why the product exists
Restaurants ran on spreadsheets and a separate accounting package that never agreed. The counter knew what was sold; the kitchen knew what was used; the accountant found out at month-end, from paper, and the three never matched. Stock leaked, cash leaked, and the owner learned about a bad day weeks later.
Business One was built so that the same order that prints the kitchen slip takes the recipe off the shelf and posts its own accounting — at the moment of sale, at the branch’s real cost. There is no “post to accounts later”, because there is no later.
What “Business One” means
One system for the whole business: the counter, the kitchen, the stock, the purchases, the payroll, the bank and the books — for every branch, on one ledger — with the owner’s numbers on the phone. Not a POS with an export, not an accounting package with a sales screen bolted on.

Tested releases
244 automated test suites and a security gate run before every deployment; releases go staging → validated → production with a data census on both sides.
Server-enforced rules
Privileges, balanced vouchers, the closed-day lock and isolation between businesses are held by the server and the database, not by hidden buttons.
Nothing lost
Version-checked saves, an offline queue at the counter, an audit log nobody can edit, and backups before and after every release.
Where it runs. Business One is hosted on a dedicated server (Node.js, PostgreSQL, nginx) at dotsms.net and is live in production with real restaurants. A second industry pack, for installment and lease sales in electronics retail, runs on the same core.
